Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.

Jewish calendar runs according to the moon cycle, and therefore the dates change from year to year when converted to solar (conventional) calendar used around the world. So unless you know the difference, you would not be able to notice something really painful that happened not once, but twice on the same day that is one of the most joyous in Lubavitch – the celebration turned into tragedy…
Four years ago, first day of the month of Kislev (Rosh Hodesh – the head of the month) was meant to be a celebration as usual – every year since 1978, when the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s heart was healed after a massive heart attack that happened two months prior. This time was specifically chosen for the joyous yearly gathering of the emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe King Moshiach from all over the world. So four years ago that day turned into a tragedy – a married couple, the emissaries from India, were murdered in Mumbai terrorist attack, while the wife was pregnant.
Exactly four years later, on the same day last week, the Lubavitchers in Israel were killed by the rockets sent from Gaza, including a pregnant emissary from India, while her husband and children were injured. As usual the emissaries gathered at this exact time for the annual convention in New York Lubavitch Headquarters.
Whether one believes in Divine Providence or not, but there seems to be some message here from God, and to me personally it looks like God is trying to have a dialogue with Lubavitch community around the world, but somehow it remains a monologue… In the Torah, in Deutoronomy 29:29, it says: “Things which are hidden belong to the Lord our God. But the things that have been revealed belong to us and our children forever, so that we can observe all the words of this Torah.” I am not a prophet and can’t see the hidden, but we were privileged and blessed with the kosher certified Prophet of biblical proportions in this generation, and he is our messenger from God with the prescription for our ills. In fact, it says in Talmud that God gives a cure before the illness, a real example of preventative medicine, but to see it we must open our eyes.
In 1991-1992, when the Lubavitcher Rebbe King Moshiach announced that the time for Redemption has come, he did not ask us to move mountains or come up with some super-duper plan of action. Instead, he simply asked us to admit, desire and proclaim that Redemption is already here literally, in a simple sense. No explanations or interpretations, just that. So simple and so powerful, but can not be appreciated until done. So why not?
Several weeks ago, a dear friend of mine wanted play in $100,000,000 Melbourne lottery, so before he bought a ticket, he wrote a letter to the Lubavitcher Rebbe King Moshiach (accepted practice in Lubavitch and among many Jews) to ask for advice. The answer he received through the book of letters in English had to do with age, address and other words that could be translated into numbers. My friend decided to use these numbers and he won … $68. But that’s not the end. Next week there was another lottery ($20,000,000) and he decided to play with the same numbers, but the last minute the human factor logic kicked in and he played other numbers, his own. Guess what? He won nothing, because the winning combination had every number that came from the Rebbe’s answer previously! Another coincidence?
People often ask me after I tell them the Prophet’s message: “And if we do what the Rebbe King Moshiach wants of us, how is it going to change the reality?” My answer is that Redemption starts on a personal level with simple action of proclamation to yourself and others in whichever form one chooses using the Prophets holy words. And as the numbers grow, it becomes a global phenomenon, but until we DO, we can’t feel, know or see what the outcome will be. So it’s up to us, and not God or His messenger the Rebbe King Moshiach, who already did his part, to do the same – proclaim Redemption and turn all the tragedies into celebrations with long awaited shalom in the Land of Israel!
